Pitt McGehee Palmer Bonanni & Rivers Files Class Action Against Goldfish Swim School Over Hidden Camera Recordings by Convicted Doctor
Partner Megan Bonanni has filed a class action lawsuit against Goldfish Swim School in Rochester, Michigan, alleging the facility's negligence allowed now convicted doctor Oumair Aejaz to secretly record families and children while in its changing rooms.
The lawsuit was brought on behalf of plaintiff Morgan Dean and her child, who were allegedly recorded by Aejaz in July 2023 while using a community changing room at the Rochester Goldfish Swim location. Aejaz installed a hidden camera that streamed live video over WiFi to an external source. The new class action joins a separate suit already filed against Goldfish Swim School by three former employees who were also unknowingly recorded by Aejaz in the same facility. Megan represents plaintiffs in both lawsuits.
In December 2025, Aejaz was sentenced to 35 to 60 years on 31 counts of sexual misconduct, including child sexually abusive commercial activity and capturing images of unclothed persons. Upon his arrest, detectives seized six computers, four cellphones, and 15 external storage devices — including a single hard drive containing 13,000 videos.
"While Aejaz set up the secret camera, Goldfish Swim School created the environment that allowed this to happen," said Megan. "We are disappointed, but not surprised, that more people have been harmed by Goldfish's negligence. Aejaz is not the first person to commit this kind of crime, and he won't be the last, which is exactly why Goldfish must be held accountable so that no one else is given the opportunity to do this."
