Megan Bonanni Speaks with Associated Press About Abuse Allegations Against Sean Gardner and Chow’s Gymnastics in Iowa

Recent reporting by the Associated Press revealed that multiple warnings about former gymnastics coach Sean Gardner were ignored for years before his recent arrest on child exploitation charges.

Attorney Megan Bonanni, who helped secure a $138.7 million settlement for survivors of Larry Nassar’s abuse, spoke with the Associated Press about the troubling parallels in this case, stating:  “This is the same type of behavior where girls aren’t believed. They are cast aside. They are tamped down. What we’re seeing with Gardner, it’s multiple institutions failing to act with the urgency that child safety demands.”

Our firm remains steadfast in advocating for accountability and systemic change to protect young athletes, and we are closely monitoring the case against Gardner and all other parties involved in this alleged abuse.
