Pitt McGehee Palmer Bonanni & Rivers is proud to congratulate Partner Megan Bonanni on her induction into the Wayne State University Law School Alumni Wall of Fame, the highest honor the law school presents. The Wall of Fame recognizes alumni and former faculty and staff whose professional accomplishments, contributions to society, influence on Wayne State University Law, and character and integrity have earned the respect of their peers.
Megan has built her career advocating for survivors of sexual abuse, workplace discrimination and institutional misconduct. She has helped secure landmark settlements on behalf of survivors in cases involving Dr. Robert Anderson and the University of Michigan, and former USA Gymnastics physician Larry Nassar. This year, the team at Pitt McGehee achieved a significant ruling in Ippel v. Grace Christian Reformed Church, in which the Michigan Court of Appeals revived a childhood sexual abuse survivor’s claims against the church and expanded the rights of survivors statewide by confirming that Michigan’s 2018 law allowing minor victims to sue until age 28 applies to anyone whose claims were still timely when it took effect. For decades, Megan has held powerful institutions and individuals accountable and secured justice for survivors and workers, setting a standard for plaintiff-side advocacy in Michigan and nationally, with recognition from Lawdragon, Super Lawyers, and Michigan Lawyers Weekly.
Megan, a 1993 graduate of Wayne Law, was honored Tuesday, October 13, at the Law School in Detroit alongside fellow 2026 inductees John J. Grant, Cornelius Pitts and Professor Alan Schenk.
During her acceptance remarks, Megan also recognized Regina Bell, her legal assistant of 24 years, for the critical role she has played in their work on behalf of victims and survivors. Megan emphasized that Regina's dedication and support have been essential to their work together and acknowledged the honor as a reflection of their shared accomplishments and commitment to justice.
Congratulations, Megan (and Regina), on this well-deserved recognition!
