Rivers Interviewed by Crain's on Changing Laws on Sexuality in the Workplace

Pitt McGehee Palmer & Rivers Partner Beth Rivers was interviewed by Crain's Detroit Business in a story discussion new HR balancing acts relating to Beth_Riverschanging laws on sexuality in the workplace. It's become one of the toughest topics that human resource managers and corporate legal teams have to face . In discussing the timing on the Michigan courts making same sex marriage rulings, Rivers told Crain's, "There's no time frame for when the court rules, and the (current three-judge hearing) panel may be deciding sooner rather than later" or before the end of the year, Rivers said. Every appeals court ruling since the U.S. Supreme Court ruling on the Defense of Marriage Act has been pro-same-sex marriage, she said, "but we'll still have to wait and see."
