PMP&R Host Flint Water Community Information Meeting

On April 24, 2017, the Flint Water Class Action Legal Team held an informational meeting for the Flint community at Greater Holy Temple Church of God in Christ in Flint. Throughout the night, Flint residents and other attendees spoke with representatives from the legal team about our class actions and representatives from community organizations about how the water crisis has affected housing and health. Approximately 200 individuals came to learn about the legal team's most recent efforts in their fight to secure justice for those who have been exposed to Flint's contaminated water. The legal team provided attendees with brief overviews of the various state and federal class action lawsuits that the legal team has filed over the past 18 months. Additionally, Kitaba Bonsitu and Kristin Totten, attorneys representing the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Michigan, shared their organization's most recent litigation efforts regarding pipe replacements and educational services for children affected by the water crisis. The meeting was capped off with a Question and Answer portion where those present could share their questions and concerns about the water crisis and the legal team's class actions. We thank those who could attend this meeting and the community for its continued trust in our legal team.
