From the Detroit Legal News Cary McGehee, of Royal Oak-based Pitt McGehee Palmer & Rivers, has been appointed chair of the Local Rules Advisory Committee for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan by the judges of the court. She is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. In addition, McGehee has been named Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Public Justice Foundation and given the Lawyers for the People award by the National Lawyers Guild. In 2016, she was selected Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers in America and has been named by Michigan Lawyers Weekly to its annual Women in the Law listing. McGehee also serves on the Board of Trustees for Michigan State University College of Law; as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights; the Advisory Board of the American Civil Liberties Union; and the Employment Law Committee of the Michigan Association for Justice.
