Johnson Wins $300k Award for Former Wayne State Employee

Judge Sheila Ann Gibson of the Third Judicial Circuit of Michigan ordered Wayne State to pay $300,000 to its former employee Karen Hrapkiewicz in an age discrimination lawsuit. Hrapkiewicz was represented by Pitt McGehee Palmer & Rivers attorney Andrea Johnson. She was the director of the Wayne County Community College District Veterinary Technology Program at WSU, and a clinical veterinarian for WSU's Division of Laboratory Animal Resources. She had a 37-year career with WSU. She alleged that she was unlawfully terminated from her positions in February 2011, according to documents first filed in U.S. District Court Eastern District of Michigan.
