Megan Bonanni has been a senior associate at Pitt McGehee Palmer Rivers & Golden since 2000. Megan has successfully advocated for the rights of employees in a wide variety of actions, including nationwide class actions, group actions and multi-party cases. Megan’s extensive experience in employment law includes the following areas of specialty: disability and accommodations, sex harassment, age discrimination, national origin discrimination, wage and hour claims, whistleblowers, pregnancy discrimination, wrongful and retaliatory termination, employment contracts, severance agreement negotiations, ERISA, Family Medical Leave Act(FMLA), and the wrongful denial of disability benefits and Social Security Disability (SSD). Megan has successfully litigated in a variety of venues including federal court, state court and private arbitration. 

Megan has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America rated by Crain’s Detroit Business as one of the leaders in her field, and recognized by The American Lawyer as a “Top Lawyer for 2011”. Megan was also recently recognized in Who’s Who in North America based on her contribution to the field of employment litigation.

Megan often serves as a court appointed mediator of employment disputes and has made several appearances on television as an expert in the area of sexual harassment and age discrimination. Ms. Bonanni has conducted sexual harassment training for a variety of professional organizations, associations and human resources professionals.

Megan is committed to giving back through a variety of pro bono projects and volunteering. She is a volunteer attorney and speaker with the Epilepsy Foundation and a mentor with the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan. Megan also helped to co-sponsor and helped to build a home in Veracruz, Mexico as part of the Jimmy Carter work project through Habitat for Humanity.

Megan obtained her B.A. in Political Science and French Literature from Kalamazoo College where she graduated with honors. She attended law school at Wayne State University. Prior to becoming a lawyer, she lived in France for several years attending the University of Caen and working at a post baccalaureate business school in Strasborg, France. Megan returned to the United States to further her studies at Wayne State University Law School. During her law school studies, Megan was awarded a fellowship to study at the University of Warwick, England.

Megan and her husband Camille, a commercial film editor, are the proud parents of children Eli and Liv. Megan has a passion for art, travel, music, cooking and the practice of yoga. She is fluent in French.
